Previously last year, I was reached out by Tiana & Garrett to not only shoot their engagement photos, but their wedding as well, and I was beyond excited. I remember being in elementary school with these two, and I wouldn't have imagined that almost two decades later I'd be shooting their wedding! We talked about the different shots that we'd want to capture, and when the day came, we shot at five different locations in total! The preparation at Grand Wailea, the ceremony at the Courtyard Marriott, the photos at Maui Sunset and Kealia Boardwalk, and the reception at Kihei Community Center - we definitely got our cardio in that day!
I had a chance to capture some great memories, as well as meet the family of the bride and groom. I felt welcomed by everyone, and there were so many great eats to be had (I couldn't get enough of the smoke meat and poke, I ended up going to the appetizer section 5 times that night!)
Weddings are an intimate moment, shared with family, friends, and loved ones all coming together to celebrate. It can be a hectic day for many, including the people working to make it perfect - florists, catering companies, videographers, and (of course) photographers. If you ask me though? I love being a part of the process, and when you're a sentimental and old-school romantic like me, it always brings a tear (of happiness) to my eye.
